Coelogyne lycastoides confirmed to be Coelogyne rumphii











Coelogyne lycastoides F.Muell. & Kraenzl., Oesterr. Bot. Z. 45: 179 (1895).

This name is accepted.

Coelogyne lycastoides, Award No 20113623, has been confirmed to be Coelogyne rumphii by SITF (June 2011) with assistance of Elizabeth George and Barbara Gravendeel.

This is not C. lycastoides, but rather likely C. rumphii. The color is the photograph is too green, but the real distinction is in the lip. Clayton (2002) shows both species adjacent.
